Technological and Commercial Innovation for the Future of Film
Revenue from traditional business in the film industry fell in 2008 (around 4% at the box office, 23% in film sales/rentals). For this reason, the new forms of business are opening up. From a distribution side, the future of film is going through a technological update which, besides reducing the costs of distributing the content, makes possible new applications that increase and differentiate the current offer. And from a production side, it is necessary to generate content that takes advantage of these innovations and provide a global scope to the content created in order to compete on equal footing with the market leaders. This round table will discuss the future of film from the perspectives of both of these links in the supply chain.
